"'Typical' French haut cuisine restaurant. White cloths, French menu with local, national and international wines and pleasant service. The restaurant opens at 1900 and closes somewhere between 2300 and 2400. Only downside we could find is that there is no music, when we sat down, there was only one other table present so is feels less cozy - but that didn't affect our evening at all."

"I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Au Relais des Ménétriers in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, France. This restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from the entrance of the old town of this beautiful village, making it very easy to reach while still feeling pleasantly calm. The tables are well spaced, allowing for comfortable conversations, and the service is friendly, smiling, and attentive throughout the meal. We had the opportunity to try the Baeckeoffe au canard, a specialty made with duck, baked in a terrine-style mold and served with a generous selection of vegetables. The dish was both very flavorful and surprisingly light, with duck that was incredibly tender, clearly benefiting from the slow cooking in this cake-mold-shaped cocotte. We also ordered the matelote of perch, wrapped in a very fine pastry and served with a delicious sauce. Both dishes are emblematic of Alsatian cuisine and were executed with great care and precision. We finished with a chocolate moelleux for dessert, which was rich and satisfying. Considering the quality of the food, the setting, and the service, the prices are very reasonable. All in all, a restaurant I can highly recommend to anyone visiting Ribeauvillé and looking for authentic, well-executed Alsatian dishes in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere."
"We had a lovely lunch, best of the trip, at Au Relais des Ménétriers 2 weeks ago. Wife and I ordered the Spring Menu with starters of chicken terrine and a beautiful pea soup with fresh popcorn(!) added. We both had the chicken 'gibelottes' which translates as a stew. It had carrots and morels with it in a sauce reminiscent of a blanquette. I lapped up every bite. The service was warm and friendly, the room modern-ish but quiet and tasteful. I recommend it highly."
"We had a great three course lunch there with traditional, local cuisine on gourmet level. I loved the potato croquettes which I haven’t had since my child hood and excellent home made “spätzle”. The meat in the main course - Roasted and sliced Charolais beef fillet, Pinot Noir and shallot sauce, confit vegetables, Parmesan potato croquettes - was fantastic. We loved the à la carte dessert - grantinee of fresh figs and raspberries with fromage blanc ice cream flavored with orange blossoms."
